Bikepacking

Adventure awaits. Do you enjoy the outdoors, whether it is raining, snowing, or hot or windy? Bikepacking does not require special weather. How you set up your bike for each ride is up to you. Bikepacking can be done in all four seasons. Depending on the time of year, you will decide if you are up for a good time. The Gear and your motivation or the excitement of the thrill of enjoying nature is as much fun as you make it.

How Long is your Bikepacking Trip?

Friends Bikepacking can be as long or as short as you want it to be. I personally like long trips. My definition of long is 10-20 miles. It is usually concluded on a bike trail where it is out in the middle of nowhere. I have deer crossings to where automobiles cross along my path. I may not see anyone for miles or I may see a long line of people. The serenity of being out is so much fun. Smelling nature all around is captivating.

Bikepacking Gear To Pack

  • Tent or Hammock
  • Portable Tools for changing a flat
  • Inner Tube
  • Power Source for Charging your Phone or Other Devices
  • Clothing depending on the season you are in
  • Snacks

While you are out Enjoying your day Bikepacking it is a good idea to have some kind of Navigation. I have a Garmin 510 for maps. It allows me to know where I have been and or where to explore next. Riding at night a good light with at least 1000 lumens and a bright tail light. Olight and Fenix a great brand for this, although it can be used more than just a light for the bike. The lights are good for everyday carry. The tent or hammock I recommend is made by Haven. It can be used as a tent or a hammock, depending on the season may be looking for one with a bug net. Last but not least the carrier for gear. Aeroe carrier mounts on any mountain bike or dirt bike. The bags that can be purchased come in 10 liters and 20 liters. They are waterproof and can handle all the weather elements.

Bikepacking can be relaxing and fulfilling for you. It shows you what you can do and realize it is good to get away from traffic. Either by yourself or with others is good company. It’s a choice in life of what we want to do and accomplish. Either living non-stress for a few days or doing it full time and then getting back to however you are living.

Stay Safe my Friends and God Bless!
